The Happy Place Project Show Posters 2020
This gallery contains posters from my January, 2020 show of my personal portrait project entitled "The Happy Place Project." Thirty one Vermont state representatives participated in the first round of this project. The show was displayed in the Vermont State House. Round two is scheduled to hang in the State House in January, 2022.
The project depicts elected lawmakers at home or a special place in their home district and engaged in an activity that grounds them. They are from all political parties and from communities around the state of Vermont. Underneath each image, the poster displays the subject's name, the legislative district the subject represents, and the location of the photo.
My "real job" is in the House Clerk's office, so I am familiar with the members on a professional level. However, this project is beyond the scope of my employment. Through the images, the viewer sees a more personal side of the members and the commonality they share despite differing political views.
